White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon, one of President Trump's key aides during the campaign and the early months of his presidency, has been removed from the National Security Council. The move was part of a filing that also included downgrading of the role of Homeland Security Adviser Tom Bossert. The NSC is the president's forum for discussing national security and foreign policy issues and includes key agency heads and cabinet officials.
